House Manager (Rockville)

Compass, Inc. is accepting applications for the House Manager position to manage the day to day activities of a residential facility.  We are currently looking a House Manager to work in the Rockville, MD area. The House Manager is supervised by the Residential Administrator and directly supervises the Residential Counselors of the residential home.  This position ensures staff coverage for the facility, ensures the overall health, safety, and welfare of the individuals residing in the facility, coordinates proper care and follow-through with medical appointments and ensures adherence to COMAR regulations, DDA standards, HIPAA regulations, and other legal and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned facility; including oversight and supervision of residential counselors assigned to the facility.  This includes being on-call to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends.  Supervision responsibilities include interviewing prospective candidates, making recommendations for hiring and firing, conducting on-site staff training, and completing performance evaluations and disciplinary action. 
  • Follow through with Individual medical and mental health appointments in a timely manner and communicate clearly and effectively with medical professionals to coordinate proper care; and work with the Residential Counselors to schedule and coordinate routine medical and dental appointments for Individuals as required to ensure proper health and well-being
  • Participate in and coordinate the implementation of a comprehensive Individual Plan (IP) Behavior Modification Plan (BP) for each Individual in order to ensure accurate, timely and consistent documentation; and maintain accurate and organized records for each Individual according to established guidelines

Shift – Mon-Fri, 9:00pm – 5:00pm (Hours are subject to change)

Ability to understand and communicate appropriately with the individuals served and understand their needs.

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or Equivalent.  At least two years’ experience working in human services preferably with persons with developmental disabilities.  Prior supervisory experience and completion of college-level coursework in a related field preferred.
