We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic persons for Weekend Counselor positions to work with and support individuals with developmental disabilities in the Montgomery, Prince George's, Howard, and Charles counties.
This position supports Compass, Inc. (the “Company”) in all aspects of Individual care and house activities, concentrating on working as part of a team to assist in the care and development of Individual(s) served by the Company within the home and the community. Incumbent must meet and ensure personal compliance with COMAR regulations, DDA standards, HIPAA regulations, legal guidelines and other regulatory standards. Other responsibilities may include providing assistance with household maintenance, budgetary/financial management, shopping and meal preparation. All activities must support the strategic goals and objectives of Compass, Inc, a Maryland-based provider of quality services for adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities, as well as produce the results that accomplish the Residential Services Department’s mission to ensure the overall health and safety of consumers and help Individuals develop more independent living skills.

Duties include assisting with activities of daily living as well as planning and implementing community outings to parks, restaurants, shopping, sporting events, museums, etc. If this sounds like something you would enjoy doing, then this may be the perfect part-time weekend position for you!

Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma. Prior experience preferred but not necessary. The ideal candidate will possess an enthusiasm for working with individuals with unique challenges and have a keen interest in advancing their quality of life. If that is you, we will provide training! Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record and ability to drive company vehicle to transport individuals to community activities. CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained prior to starting. All new hires will attend a paid two-day orientation and must complete a comprehensive curriculum of paid online training classes prior to orientation.
Compensation: $11.50 - $11.75 hour. Benefits include vision, dental insurance and 401(K) with generous employer match. Paid training. We also provide free meals while on duty and mileage reimbursement if you use your own vehicle.
